Symposium: Integrating Innovative Airpower

17 Apr 2015 9:45 AM | Anonymous
On Friday 17 April 2015, the Williams Foundation co-hosted a seminar in Copenhagen with the University of  Copenhagen's Centre for Military Studies. The seminar was titled 'Integrating Innovative Airpower, Facing 21st Century Strategic Challenges'.

The venue was one of Copenhagen's oldest military sites , The Kastellet - a 17th century fortress.  A fitting location to explore 21st century warfare!

The seminar formed part of an ongoing series of seminars by the Foundation to explore the implications and opportunities for a 5th generation enabled Defence force.

An indication of how universal these new future force considerations are was reflected by the attendees at the seminar.  There were military and diplomatic representatives from Denmark, Norway, Finland, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands, Spain, Ukraine, the United States, and the UK.  NATO and the European Air Group also participated. It was a truly global meeting of air power experts.

The presentations from the seminar are available here.

Dr Robbin Laird, who has previously worked with the Williams Foundation, was also at the Copenhagen seminar and his initial commentary on the issues explored can be found at:
